Dumezich dominated at the plate and on the mound in 2008, setting numerous state records in the process. As a pitcher, she went 31-0 on the season with a 0.19 ERA and 24 shutouts. Dumezich’s 489 strikeouts (in 189 innings) set a state record, and she also eclipsed the record for career K’s with 1,268 (with one year of eligibility remaining). As a hitter, she tied a state mark by clubbing 15 home runs.
